3Can take a beating  Apr 04, 2008
By E. Conway
I bought these as a replacement to my old Leki poles. I'm pretty rough with them, and they can take it. My only complaint is with the wrist straps-- these come with a locking mechanism so you can adjust the straps and make them tighter, which is nice for small hands like mine. But, I found that the locking mechanism would come loose when the straps were pulled, and that caused the poles to slip right off my wrists. Not good when you're bushwacking your way across a steep montane forest. I'll probably just superglue the locks down.

5Safer, Easier, Hiking  Apr 02, 2008
By Nikon Fan
I'd never used hiking poles before I got these, but I feel naked without them now. Heading uphill, they can be shortened so one essentially does 4-point hiking without getting dirty. Downhill, they can be lengthened. They can be shortened and stuck in a backpack (sticking out the top) for hiking rope sections or rock faces where you need two hands free. I don't use them on flat ground although many people do.
If you're new to trail poles, this is about the price point to buy as a first pair. The cheapest models are not anti shock and one would quickly get tired of using them.

5Great poles  Jul 16, 2007
By R. Graff
Used these on a recent vacation and they worked wonderfully. On the trail I shared them with the rest of the group, just for them to try, then I couldn't get them back ! Highly recommended.
