THE BEST CARE FOR FINE LINENS Nov 09, 2011
By AZHome1 If you are able & willing to spend thousands on Anichini, Pratesi, Sferra or other boutique Italian made high-end Egyptian cotton, silk or other fine linens then you want to preserve your investment. Unless you intend to dry clean regularly (which is not only expensive, but hard on fabrics) Le Blanc is a great choice. It is reccommended by every high end fabric house I'm aware of... & for good reason. You need such a small quantity to clean even a full set of king sheets & a duvet cover... 1/4cup is plenty. It removes every stain I've come up against - blood, ball point pen, oils - like from hair products (or MAKE-UP!!). We have 3 kids & it removes the crazy things they put in their beds too... like chocolate, magic marker or crayon! The scent isn't over powering or feminine like fabric softerners or detergents... My husband says he doesn't feel like he's sleeping on "fru-fru" sheets. It's very light- many people won't even notice it- especially if you have more than 1 set of sheets per bed & wait a week or more before using them between washings.
I prefer a very formal bed, so we iron linens. Using Le Blanc in cold water on delicate then removing linens from the dryer while damp & ironing makes the sheets easy to press to a crisp finish. Le Blanc also makes a dryer "sachet" and an ironing water if you want more fragrance.
All in all, Le Blanc is far better than Forever New or other products. It's expensive if you look only at the price per ounce; but, if you figure the cost per wash versus "Tide" etc. & how much longer your fine bedding & other items will last, Le Blanc is a no brainer! It is simply the best care for fine linens.
