By monty My husband, 79 and a lifetime non-electric shaver, says this is without a doubt the best shave soap he's ever used -

Great Shaving Soap Mar 30, 2011
By M. A. Rupp This stuff is fantastic. To me a good shaving soap should meet three criteria: lather up quickly with a brush, have a silky smooth lather, and smell good. This soap meets all three. I've tried a bunch of other soaps and none are as good as this one.

Rich Creamy Protective Lather Jul 06, 2011
By G Man I've been wet shaving/double edged safety razor shaving for a year. I've had MANY different shaving creams and was looking into trying soaps for a closer shave. I now only have two shaving soaps in my rotation, and have given up on creams. I use this soap mostly when traveling since it has a screw top lid. My other soap is, ironically, French: L'Occitane en Provence Cade Shaving Soap.
This soap will give you the best, creamy, protective, and "clean soapy" smelling lather you can get. It does have a tendency to be more dense and/or more dry, so, you may need a bit more hot water. I wouldn't trade this soap for the world. It's very forgiving on your face when traveling as you'll need something sensitive if you're on the go.
I have very sensitive skin, and, this does the job with no irritation. If this soap irritates you, either you're shaving wrong and need to go back to the drawing board or you should be contained within a bubble.

Better than expected May 24, 2011
By Fab I bought this to accompany my fist safety razor experience. I don't have anything to compare it with except for canned cream and I was really surprised how wonderful it was. I bought the badger brush and this combo gets a nice lather and the scent is mild but pleasant. I'll never go back to canned creams after this.

Very nice lather, nice scent May 01, 2011
By bkfist This soap lathers up very nicely on my badger brush with soft water. The scent reminds me a lot of Thymes "Frasier Fir" soap collection.
Lather is rich and thick without too much work in the lather bowl. This is one of the most moisturizing soaps I own.
